Subscribe to RSSVonage stay is a good thing
The enemy here is bogus use of flimsy intellectual property to thwart innovation and investment in a space.
To that end, the recent stay of an order allowing Vonage to keep signing up new customers is a good thing. I’d like to see Vonage use some of their resources to do some good, namely to discredit spurious claims in these patents and to discourage others from trying this same BS.
Unfortunately, the court set a very short schedule for hearing Vonage’s appeal - it will be argued in just two months. This means Vonage has to reach out to the Internet community quickly and leverage experts that can provide the facts needed to invalidate these patent claims.
